as long as someone gets it off my drive i don't really care what engine goes in it :D

though there is a spare 1800 lump from my scirocco in the garage and a 2l head which could have some bike carbs fitted...

Take to longer and i might just fit it in the back using the subframe from the polo HAHA

Zetec is the way to go IMO, cheap, easy to find, easy to work on and reliable, I'm putting out 176 bhp on mild cams & TB's on a 1.8, I've a friend with twin 45's, cams, headwork and ignition management, 202bhp from a 2.0

What about a Metro Turbo setup?

Fit the right pistons, an Intercooler, a different F.D to suit sprinting and a H/D diff pin.

All faily cheap, and it won't need another engine :pardon:

Just an idea......don't shoot me! :D

The Metro turbo route would definitely be the easiest and save us wrecking the car. What about a high boost Metro Turbo engine? Should be ok if we only use it for Santa Pod and trackdays anyway?

By eck, Iv'e been missing for months (no net in my little hamlet.....) and still the same old merry go round.

Graham, Ross and I suggested the car came to us oop north, but there were more members dahn sahf to sort the poor old girl.....

Unfortunately the offer of work is out of the question as I have too much on my plate at the mo with the house etc etc. However, I too have an airfield for storage if anyone can deliver?

There would be no probs fitting a K series at all as the old E series is roughly the same size. And you can pick up complete Rover 200 type things for around scrap value anywhere.

However if a Zetec is free, thats common sense. Even if I prefer a K series! :) :P :D

If I'd got the space I'd have it tomorrow! Not sure whether I'd have time to do any work on it. Too busy rebuilding MG engines, cleaning the house, doing the ironing etc, etc. :P
