Right then chaps, the date has now been set for this years run. 1st September to 8th September.

The first week in September has been chosen primarily in an effort to keep costs down as going earlier in the summer was significantly more expensive.

Can you please add your names below if you are coming or even just thinking about coming so we can begin to get a feel for possible numbers. Please also list the car you wish to take and please make sure it fits in the retro bracket and is not a modern car.

Last year there was a lot of discussion between the organisers of 'whats retro, and whats not'. This year we will be approving each application to eliminate the more modern cars from coming and keep it strictly to retro cars and mini's.

So, cars which are automatically eligible to join the run are as follows:

All Mini's (This is a Mini Club after all!!)
All PRE 1990 cars (The definition of Retro being employed for this event is any car that was first manufactured before 1990 but continued post 1990 in the same guise and model release. I.E. MK2 Astra, E30 BMW, Peugeot 205, VW Polo to MK 2 only) If you are unsure as to whether your car qualifies, please drop me a PM with your cars full details and I'll let you know.

Simply put, if your car's model was first manufactured after 1990, then it is not eligible. All is not lost though as you will still be able to take your 'modern' car but not as an official BH2N runner. You will be responsible for booking your own ferry and camping and you won't receive a run pack, stickers etc, nor will you be able to do the parade laps but you can still 'tag along' so to speak.

If you've never been but quite fancy it, then I can highly recommend it. Here's the link to last years run. Have a read through because it gives you an idea of costs, timings and most of all the amount of fun to be had! :)

2009 Official Topic

Oh, by the way if I wanted to go until the Sunday and make my own way back then would that be accomodated or would I need to book the ferry separately to do that?
Cheers, B.

If everyone wanted different travel times then we wouldnt get the group discount etc, if you want to travel at different times you need to organise yourself, but let us know so you can also camp at the same place etc.

So if I booked the crossings myself (Thinking about it, the Rover will be on a trailer, so I'd probably have to book separately and I've got a discount code anyway) would I still be able to get on the parade laps?

I have posted this up on the The Mini Forum so thought I would put it here too.

Please bookmark the Mini Forum web site and check back often for updates and announcements. There's currently a cool competition to design this years run plaques and T shirts B)

Hi All,

As you all know, this event is called the BH2NRR that is Brands Hatch to Nurburgring RETRO RUN

All PRE 1990 cars

If you car is not a Mini and was first registered after 1990, then unfortunately your car is not eligible to attend this event, sorry.

There can and will be exceptions to this rule as there are certain cars which continued production into the early 90's and are still very much considered to be Retro (Pug 205 GTI springs to mind)

I hope you appreciate the nature of the event and will therefore understand why this rule is being enforced.

If you do have a post 1990 car that you were hoping to take, please PM me with the details and I and the rest of the BH2NRR Admin team will give it fair consideration.

Technically mine was registered in 1990. I know it was manufactured in '89 though, they stopped production in summer '89, mine was just late registered.

Please read my original post again as we have listened to what's been suggested and have amended the eligibility rules accordingly.

Cheers
