Hello! :(

Long time no posting - sorry!

So, guys are places still available and if so what do i need to do? Sorry for the stupid questions but just not sure. Is the right section to post in? Colin - thanks for the heads-up although i'm very slow to react to it. How many places are available in total and how many have deposits against them?

I need a reminder to fill the form out and get it set off with £50 - can't really pay right now but can next week when my paypal account is sorted.

Does anyone what to jump in the passenger seat and pay half the fuel etc? Don't mind who, anyone is welcome B)

Hi Jacko,

Were still in organising mode at the moment so no announcement yet on costs although we should be announcing soon. Costs and number of places will be similar to last year though. Good to see you're keen to come along again, it should be a hoot B)

Keep an eye in here for updates mate

We'll be starting to take deposits within the next few days. We will set the closing dates for deposits when we announce costs, but I'd expect we will be accepting the last deposits by the end if March.

Judging by last year, we sold about 80% of the places within the first week, so it will be a case if getting deposits in as quickly as possible. It will be a first come = first served basis.

We are allocating 50 places for the run. We had 65 places last year (with a total of around 100 people) and it was a very busy run.

If everyone wanted different travel times then we wouldnt get the group discount etc, if you want to travel at different times you need to organise yourself, but let us know so you can also camp at the same place etc.

So if I booked the crossings myself (Thinking about it, the Rover will be on a trailer, so I'd probably have to book separately and I've got a discount code anyway) would I still be able to get on the parade laps?

I've put your question to the rest of the organising team and will get back to you.

Did you get a reply on this?
Cheers, B.

I personally shouldn't think it will be a problem RetRover, what your asking is pretty much the way I, and some others travelling from Scotland, will be doing this year and is the way I did it last year whilst joining in by paying the deposit to cover the reserved camping and the run pack/t-shirt etc but travelling independantly of the main body of the group.
You must pay for the run pack as that allocates you an official entrant number and camping passes which in turn allows you to join in on the parade laps etc. Whilst saying this obviously the final decission lies with the organisers, but they were more than helpfull last year with me having all the pack, stickers, plaques, and t-shirt sent out in good time before I set off.
Best of luck, Colin.

Cheers Colin B) Yes, it won't be a problem. You'll have to pay the deposit on time to secure the camping and we'll then give you a final balance to pay which will be minus the ferry costs.

Thanks guys,

Can you copy the deposit/payment info here as I can't get on TMF through work (it blocks some forums and not others, I think RCC is too small to be on their database)

B.

Yes, as soon as final details are announced, I'll update this thread. The latest info is:

Quote

Hi guys.

Sorry this is taking its time this year.

We don't yet have confirmation of the availability of the ring for our closed session. We are reluctant to announce costs until we have this as a firm cost to budget for. Worst case scenario is that we have to wait until the end of February to define the costs.

The costs will be very similar to last year, but we will be getting an extra day at the campsite. We are leaving on the 1st September, we return on the 8th. Wednesday to Wednesday.

We are going to be asking for a £60 deposit this year, rather than £50.

Please be patient, we're working on it and will give you definite figures ASAP.
