Just a small update:
Making slow progress at the moment.
Everything seems to be going against me!
To start with the head bolts I want are £250 a set, the vernier pulley is £130, not to mention that I cant seem to get the correct piston rings from my supplier!
On the plus side, I have got the valves re-ground and fitting nicely so the head can get rebuilt and wrapped up ready for fitting when the bottom end is back together.
The injection pump is in bits at the moment under going a few major modifications so hopefully I can get the power im after!

I used ARPs on the bottom end of my old red top, they're expensive but definitely worth it. Re-useable too which is a bonus for head bolts.

True, but I would have to use 10 sets of head bolts before the cost is even! LOL
I need them because as the standards are stretch bolts, under high boost it will stretch the bolts then blow the gasket!

No real alternative then!

Hi, yes, thanks and yes, its the 1905cc. I was looking at upgrading the the Citreon XM 2.1 12v TD, but for sprints/hillclimbs I need to have the basic block and head that originally fitted to the model!

Right.
Small update.
Had the turbo sent away to be properly balanced and whilst there I opted to have a full 360 thrust kit fitted, so I have a perfect turbo sitting wrapped up waiting to be fitted.
I am in possession of all of the parts I need to get the project finished now. Piston rings, bearings, gaskets etc.
My injection pump is being rebuilt and fitted with an 11mm plunger instead of the 9mm plunger. I may keep the same cam wheel, but may go for one with slightly higher lift.
The 9mm is rated to 160bhp and can roughly deliver 63mm2 of fuel (apx), so with an 11mm it should be able to deliver 95mm2 of fuel (apx), which works out at around 241bhp. Again all of this is theory!
Everything seems to be slowly dropping into place.
Once the engine is back together and in the car I then need to start on the bodywork as the intercooler I am using is somewhat on the extreme size, and then I am going to hang a big oil cooler out in front too. Seeing as how i want to do sprints / hillclimbs in it when built I have to keep the original silhouette so my intercooler and oil cooler need to be cut back into the bumper and grill.
I was thinking of removing the wings, bumpers and bonnet and cutting away the inner wings and box framing it to give me more room, but i think this will have to wait until later!

well as some of you may be aware ive bought a 305GTX and am planning on fitting my TDi engine into that now!
So my 205 is going to be broken for cash to fund my multitude of other projects, so watch this space for a 305 GT-TD
