As above: Is the LS400 (mk1) a retro car?

Discuss.

Retro is often said to be pre 1990, whilst production started in 89 (so says Wikipedia.) The first cars here were 1990. So not realy, but that doesnt mean much around here! Good engine though, I have been reading a thread about a lexus V8 in a tr7 down under.

Come on they came in two tone as standard... not much more retro than that!

My step dad's trying to buy a '89 model at the moment for Toyota GB's historic collection. Apparently it's the original London Motorshow LS with very funky Japanese specifications. I'll try and get some more details.

I've been looking at that one as well! (Assuming its the one that was on car and classic?)

V8? Check
4 Doors? Check
Nigh on 2 tons? Check
Luxury? Check

Right - lets get this done....

I'm thinking either black or white - with an Erebuni 745 rear spoiler. ;-D

I especially like the LS400s sporting gold badges... a very classy add on if I do say so myself.

TDI used to stock some nice parts for the LS400's - they are all out of stock now though... I want a nice brushed aluminium grille for mine.... or the TRD carbon one...
