i'm putting a vauxhall engine back in the chevette as i'm getting sick of the crossflow breaking down

i've sourced one that needs a complete rebuild but i'm looking to sqeeze some more power out of it, if anyone could give me some suggestions on what i can do that would be awsome as a standard 1256 is slightly too slow

thanks

Yeah there is quite a bit but the bits are hard to find as I am finding.
I got a book called tuning vivas and Firenza's its on ebay and only a couple of quid rather helpfull book! but the bits are like rocking horse Sh*t.
If you want a bigger engine I do have out of my firenza a 1.6/1.8 Standard lump with gearbox for sale.. Now its in buts but perfect for tuning and that book also explains alot about that engine

£100 with the box which you will need as your 1256 box wont fit it!

been speaking to your cousin today, you need to find a bigger back axle for this engine I am selling which is a pity but speak to him as he put me in touch with the parts guy in worthing for blyndstein stuff... send me your email address and ill send you the article. maybe if we both order bits in a batch it could be cheaper as i am tempted after speaking to my insurance company once again to keep my 1256 in my car as once again they wanna rape me for money
